Complainants demand PEMRA to take action against TV channels telecasting irresponsible news terror incidents

Islamabad Scores of Television Vision viewers have expressed their concerns over the on airing of irresponsible programs and telecasting news, screening the bloody movies of terror victims by various private TV channels.
The TV viewers while lodging their complaints to PEMRA demanded the authorities concerned to take severe action against those private TV channels who on aired irresponsible programs and screened bloody movies of victims.
“Such coverage of terror incidents would mount psychological pressure on viewers and cause of fear among masses”, they added and maintained that entire nation is united and fighting against terrorism and even rendered unprecedented sacrifices to eliminate terrorism.
They said that such type of irresponsible journalism and coverage is not in interest of anyone but causes promotion of terrorism also adding that telecasting the footage of terror incidents repeatedly on TV screens causes great inconvenience for the heirs of terror-victims.
The complainants have expressed the hope that Pakistan Broadcasters Association, its members and Directors News of TV channels would prevent to telecast their scenes on their TV channels as to telecast the number of causalities without confirmation is the violation of PEMRA’s code of conduct.
