KARACHI : Sindh health department on Tuesday completed all arrangements to deal with heatstroke in Karachi as special units have been formed in 13 different hospitals to control the situation.
Medical experts have advised elderly people and children to avoid travelling in hot weather. They also asked the ailing people to take special precautions as their chances to get affected by the heatstroke are more.
The doctors have also said that a person being hit by heatstroke should take bath with cold water and also prevent himself from sun exposure.
Last year, Karachi experienced the worst heatwave for nearly 35 years and killed more than 1,000 people. The morgues ran out of space and residents rushed to supply over-stretched public hospitals.
