Islamabad, Deposed Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his sons have denied presenting before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) today (on Friday) and said that they have not received summons in this regard.
According to reliable sources, former PM and his sons want to appear after Supreme Court’s directives on their review petition that is why NAB Rawalpindi has not released notices on media sent on August 11.
Nawaz Sharif after consulting his legal counsels denied to present before NAB when notices surfaced on media and said that they have not received summons yet.
Sources added that NAB must call Nawaz in Rawalpindi for investigation but for his convenience, NAB not only summoned him in Lahore but kept the summons hidden for almost six days.
Sources said that purpose of keeping the summons secret was only to get immediate relief for Nawaz and his sons from Supreme Court over review petition but review petition has not been included in Supreme Court’s cause list of next week even.
Today (Friday)Nawaz and his sons has to present before NAB first time in connection with cases but they used traditional tactics to avoid this and said that they have not received summons.
Reliable sources said that Nawaz and sons taking benefit of NAB’s mild attitude while renowned lawyer Azhar Siddique Advocate termed it a result of Nawaz, NAB nexus adding that NAB officials are committing contempt of court. He said that review petition is not a hindrance in investigation but if Nawaz wants to stop investigation, he must have to file application because NAB’s laxity is a barrier in provision of justice.
