Lahore, Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has counseled the interim Prime Minister not to waste his energies in trying to prove Nawaz Sharif an angel and instead concentrate on improving the working of his government.
Addressing the concluding session of the JI central workshop at Mansoora on Thursday, he said that the first phase of accountability had been completed with the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif and the second phase would witness the former rulers in the dock.
He said there were many people both in the government and the opposition who must go through accountability and urged the Supreme Court to initiate legal action against those involved in the Panama leaks, Dubai leaks, London leaks, those availing the NRO and also those getting huge bank loans written off. He further said that the names of these people should be put on the ECL so that they could flee the country.
The JI chief said that the elements talking of abolishing articles 62 and 63 of the constitution were in fact expressing their intent to violate the constitution. Sirajul Haq deplored that even after seventy years of independence, the country was being ruled by the slaves of the East India Company and the agents of the IMF and the World Bank.
The JI chief said the electoral reforms were inevitable for getting rid of the plunderers and thieves in politics and added that the JI would continue its effort in this direction.
